Phil Nesmith
Adaptability Strategist & Ways of Working Architect

Phil Nesmith is an Adaptability Strategist and Ways of Working Architect with a passion for helping organizations shift from being output-drained to impact-driven. With a special interest in outcomes, flow metrics, probability-based forecasting, and evolving beyond traditional Scrum measures like velocity, Phil challenges teams and leaders to rethink how they assess success and create real, sustainable value.
With a career spanning mission-critical industries, Phil has led or played impactful roles in healthcare, defense, and finance evolution efforts, most recently guiding Leidos QTC Health Services in breaking free from an output-focused mindset and embracing high-impact agility. His approach blends deep agility focused expertise with a broad and unconventional background—from serving as a US Army paratrooper to fabricating NASCAR race trucks, being a network engineer, to teaching university level art, and working as a fine artist. These seemingly unrelated experiences have shaped his ability to help organizations and teams cultivate adaptability, build confidence in change, and embrace bold shifts in mindset and process.
Phil believes that all evolution happens in small, often imperceptible shifts—just like glaciers, always moving. His mission is to help teams and leaders recognize those shifts, harness change, and create lasting impact, one step at a time.
